Francisco Magallán










FRANCISCO MAGALLAN - VISUAL ARTIST –
(Painter, Printmaker and Illustrator)
Born in Mexico City. He earned a BFA and a MFA at the Faculty of Arts and Design.
Has participated in more than 90 group art shows and presented 12 solo art shows
national and international (Mexico, US, France, Spain, Germany, Argentina and Cuba).
Worked as University Professor in Mexico, teaching Drawing, Illustration, Color Theory
and Printmaking, and managed his own Painting and Printmaking Studio “The
Labyrinth”. Currently he is a Talented Visual Arts Teacher at Jefferson Parish.
Some of his art pieces are part of institutional collections such as National Museum of
Mexican Art (Chicago), International Museum of Art and Science (Mc Allen) Mexican
Cultural Institute (San Antonio) Bradbury Art Museum (Arkansas) and New Orleans
Percent for Art Collection (New Orleans)
His work has been published in Art Magazines like Artepoli (Barcelona, 2022) New
Visionary (New York, 2023) and Modern Renaissance (Washington, 2023)
Has lived in New Orleans since 2013. In 2022 he completed a 6 month Artist in Residence
program at SALON Artist Studios sponsored by the Arts Council of New Orleans. Had
been a Collective Member of Antenna Gallery since 2023 and Second Story Gallery since
2024.
